My working method generally involves beginning from a more or less direct representation of an object or event in time and then applying a range of manipulations to the image to create an expressive composition that reveals a more internal experience.

When most successful, the work becomes a window to an inward view rather than an outward view.

F (initial cap)

Fine art and commercial photography has been my main occupation for over thirty years. My professional career has included work in still photography, video, filmmaking, graphic design and multimedia production. I have produced work for varied corporate clients such as General Motors Corp., AT&T, Progressive Insurance, Cleveland Clinic and Parker Hannifin Corp.

My editorial photography has been published widely in such publications as Rangefinder, The Cleveland Plain Dealer, Northern Ohio Live, Ohio Family, AAA Living, Wildlife Conservation Magazine.

I also teach photography courses at Lakeland Community College in Kirtland, Ohio and have taught at the University of Akron.

I produce editions of fine art giclée prints of my own work and that of other artists from my digital print studio and maintain a growing library of stock images available for editorial license.

Home is ten acres of woods in “Amish Country,” forty miles east of Cleveland, Ohio.
